READ IN UKRAINIAN WITH "AGROPROSPERIS"
The “Read in Ukrainian with Agroprosperis” project was born from a simple yet very important idea — to bring Ukrainian books back to rural schools and libraries, where they have been scarce for years. At the onset of the full-scale war, the shelves of many local libraries were still filled with outdated or Russian-language literature. Today, we are changing this narrative together.
In partnership with the Vydavnytstvo Staroho Leva publishing house, the Agroprosperis Charity Foundation is systematically updating the library collections of Ukrainian communities where it operates, replacing Soviet-era books with high-quality contemporary and classic Ukrainian books.
Project Objectives
To rekindle children’s love of reading physical books, so that every schoolchild in even the most remote village can experience the scent of a new book, flip through its pages, and discover the rich world of the Ukrainian language.
Project Results
Over the course of three years, 85 libraries across 10 regions of Ukraine have received more than 4,000 new Ukrainian books. The distributed books include Ukrainian classics, translations of world literature, children’s books, encyclopedias, poetry, and fiction tailored for teenagers.
Total schools and libraries supported: 85.
Together, we are bringing Ukrainian books back to where they are needed most — into rural communities, to children who read with their hearts. Because love for one’s country begins with love for one’s native language.
Inviting partners for support
We welcome partnerships and co-financing opportunities to continue systematically updating libraries and school collections in Ukrainian communities. Your contribution will help deliver even more high-quality Ukrainian books into the hands of the children who shape our future.
